Medieval liturgical plainchant in Braga within the Iberian-Aquitanian context: views on responsories At the end of the eleventh century the Frankish-Roman rite was imposed in Iberian Peninsula and the Old Hispanic one was replaced. Cluniac monks, mainly from Aquitania, promoted the diffusion of the new rite south and south-west of the Pyrenees.
