“LUZ” show closes 11th edition of International Organ Festival in Santo Tirso

The show ‘LUZ’, which closes the 11th edition of FIO – International Organ Festival, is a multidisciplinary creation bringing together dancers João Silva and David Murta, visual artist António Guimarães Ferreira, actress and lighting designer Daniela Rosado, and organist and composer Cláudio de Pina, under the artistic direction of Rodrigo Teodoro de Paula.

Inspired by the metaphor of light as a symbol of hope and renewal, the performance offers an artistic and philosophical reflection on the pursuit of optimism in an era marked by conflict and uncertainty, drawing on the writings of Plato, Saint Augustine, Gaston Bachelard and Rebecca Solnit.

In this production, light is not merely a scenic element, but a powerful metaphor for creativity and resilience. Through ‘LUZ’, the project seeks to celebrate human endurance and the capacity to find beauty and meaning even in the most challenging times. The combination of dance, video projections, lighting design, and organ and electronic music opens up new expressive possibilities, inviting the audience to reflect on art’s ability to illuminate pathways, overcome adversity and inspire transformation.
