NCMM – Nova Contemporary Music Meeting I Proposals until October 31
The call for proposals is now open for the international conference NOVA Contemporary Music Meeting (NCMM), which will take place from 5 to 7 May 2027 in Mafra. Under the theme ‘Displaced Sounds: Music and Algorithms’, the conference invites contributions exploring how computational systems transform musical creation, performance, circulation, preservation, listening, and rights.
The conference aims to bring together researchers, artists, practitioners, and professionals from across disciplines. Historical, philosophical, artistic, technological, and empirical perspectives on the relationships between music, sound, and algorithmic systems, are welcome.
Key thematic areas of the call for papers include:
- Algorithmic Creation, AI, and Artistic Practice;
- Platforms, Streaming, and Digital Music Infrastructures;
- Archives, Data, Preservation, and Computational Classification;
- Rights, Ethics, Labour, and Governance in Digital Music Environments.
The deadline for submitting proposals is October 31, 2026.
