The 14th Meeting Music, Critical Theory and Communication will take place on September 24 and 25 at NOVA FCSH. There will be three panels of presentations, grouped by theme; a roundtable discussion centered on the book recently published by Júlia Durand, Library Music and Imagined Images (Bloomsbury, 2026), featuring Paula Gomes-Ribeiro and Jorge Martins Rosa; a panel dedicated to researcher Vinícius de Aguiar’s project on opera and new media, featuring, José Nicolau Pinto and Christopher Morris as members of this project, and Nicholas McNair as a guest; and, finally, the keynote lecture by Christopher Morris, who is known for his reflections on issues of mediality and operatic dramaturgy, and who will deliver the closing session of the event, titled “An Audience of One: Watching Opera Online”.
