Peça a Peça Itinerante (PaPI) in Vila Nova de Famalicão

The PaPI artistic-educational constellation brings together a set of small musical-theatrical pieces designed from scratch to be easily circulated in kindergartens, museums, libraries, social centres and other institutions interested in promoting access to culture. The first PaPIs were created in multidisciplinary and intergenerational artistic residencies held at the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation as part of the Opus Tutti project (2011-2014).
The Municipality of Vila Nova de Famalicão has been associated with this artistic-educational practice since the beginning, and since then, several kindergartens in its ‘surroundings’ have been able to enjoy this innovative contribution in our country. In 2025, in this ‘cradle where PaPIs grow’, the Companhia de Música Teatral (CMT) premiered another artistic creation from this travelling cycle dedicated to music for children. PaPI Opus 11 drew inspiration from the kindergartens of Bairro, Oliveira de Santa Maria, Bente, Ruivães and Riba d’Ave. It then premiered at the Casa das Artes on 8 November. In February, Papi will return to Vila Nova de Famalicão and other kindergartens in the surrounding area.
