Biography

Regiane Yamaguchi is pianist, professor and researcher. She holds a Doctor fo Musical Arts degree from the Cleveland Institute of Musica/ Case Western Reserve University, a Master of Music in Piano Pedagogy and Performance from Penn State University (both in the USA), a Diplom Kunstlerisches Aufbaustudium in Piano from the Hochschule für Musik Karlsruhe (Germany), and a Bachelor of Music from Unicamp (Brasil). She is full professor at the Universidade Federal de Campina Grande – UFCG, co-founder and President of the Associação Brasileira de Piano Colaborativo – ABPC, post-doc researcher at CESEM in the Universidade Nova de Lisboa, and pianist of the Duo Resound, with trumpeter Rudson Ricelli. She has won prizes and awards in national and international competitions both as a piano soloist as well as a chamber musician. Her academic works have been published in Brazil, Germany, Spain and in the USA. She has organized festivals, meetings, recitals en beneficent events both within academia and for the general public as well, and, through the ABPC, has been promoting online events such as recitals, interviews and discussion forums. She has appeared as pianist in several regions of Brazil and USA, and in countries such as Germany, France, Portugal and Ireland, with Duo Resound. She has been soloist and has been part of groups such as Coro de Câmara de Campina Grande in concert halls such as the Carnegie Hall – Perelman Stage in New York, Teatro Garcia de Resende in Évora, Teatro Municipal Severino Cabral, the Orquestra Sinfônica do Rio Grande do Norte, Orquestra Sinfônica da Unicamp, Orquestra Filarmônica da UFRN, CIM New Music Ensemble, CIM Percussion Ensemble, Penn State Wind Ensemble. Furthermore, she has performed beside numerous other artists, instrumentalists and singers, in chamber music recitals, including several national and international work premieres.
