Biography:

António Salgado has a degree in Music and in Philosophy, a Master in Music: Lied (Salzburg University) and a PhD in Musical Performance: Singing (UK – Sheffield University, Music Department). He articulates the activity of singer, performer, singing teacher, Head of the Vocal Studies at ESMAE, he is the coordinator of the Opera Studio and of the post-graduated course in Opera and Music Theatre Studies of the ESMAE – Escola Superior de Música e Artes do Espetáculo – Instituto Politécnico do Porto, since 2010.
Participates in the international Partnership Program Meeting Place – Music, Theatre, Landscape, with tree others European Schools, Winchester University (UK) SADA and SLU (Sweden).
Develops research in areas related by the expression of emotion in singing, and general musical expression, and within the aesthetic of the scene, and of related areas like: opera and landscape, landscape and performing arts.
He is member of CESEM (Research Nucleus of Music and Performing Arts), Porto.
