The Duo David Costa and Pedro Ferro premières next March 26, 2023, 4:30 p.m. at Teatro-Cine Torres Vedras, the project “Oboe and Piano in Portuguese | Vol. 2”, consisting of 4 works commissioned to Portuguese composers and the winner of the Duo David Costa and Pedro Ferro International Competition Música Terras de Santiago 2022 – Composition Variant. “Oboe and Piano in Portuguese | Vol. 2” follows the project premiered in 2020 – “Oboe and Piano in Portuguese” – and recorded by the end of 2021, a project that aims to foster the creation, diffusion, and circulation of Portuguese music for oboe and piano. It consists of three stages: the commission of original compositions to four Portuguese composers (Ana Seara, Sérgio Azevedo, Eurico Carrapatoso e Nuno da Rocha), a composition contest for young Portuguese composers (won by the composer João Ricardo), and the premiere of the commissioned pieces along with the awarded work.
