Biography

Diogo Alte da Veiga is an invited professor of the School of Arts and Humanities of the University of Minho. He is an Early Music researcher, and PhD student, at CESEM – NOVA FCSH, with a focus on plainchant in Iberian medieval manuscripts.

He has a master’s degree in Historical Musicology (NOVA FCSH) and a degree in Gregorian Chant (Higher School of Music of Lisbon and School of Arts of the University of Utrecht). He is trained, as well, in Early Music – Traverso (Lisbon, Utrecht, and Higher School of Music of Porto).

He is an historically informed performer of plainchant (conduction and singing) and of seventeenth- and eighteenth-century chamber music (on period instruments).
