Preview of ‘Lusitanian Masters and Sounds’, a series written by Mafalda Nejmeddine (GMPM)
The second phase of the documentary series ‘Lusitanian Masters and Sounds’ (“Mestres e Sons Lusitanos”), which portrays the biographies of six Portuguese composers from the 18th and 19th centuries, began on September 27 in Vila Viçosa. Throughout the month of October, the cities of Lisbon, Porto and Estremoz are hosting previews of the episodes about composers Pedro António Avondano and João de Sousa Carvalho, bringing science closer to the public and the school community.
The series ‘Lusitanian Masters and Sounds’ is made up of six scientific documentaries that include interviews with historians, musicians and musicologists, images of places and historical documents, as well as sounds from the period. It is a new way of telling the story of Portuguese music by Mafalda Nejmeddine, produced and directed by Fouad Nejmeddine and supported by the Direção-Geral das Artes.
