Abstract

This research on the liturgical repertory of Portuguese medieval manuscripts covers several interrelated, and mutually supportive areas of enquiry, the most important being the inventory and description of manuscripts that will provide an important tool for musicologists. After this part of the research has been completed, a study will be undertaken of repertories and liturgical traditions, as well as of notation, all of which, furthermore, will assist the development of the Portuguese Early Music Database.
