Rui Magno Pinto (CTC) joins the Wind Music Research Quarterly editorial committee
Researcher Rui Magno Pinto has recently joined the editorial committee of Wind Music Research Quarterly (Mitteilungsblatt), a publication of the Internationale Gesellschaft zur Erforschung und Förderung der Blasmusik (IGEB). The new editorial committee, consisting of Rui Magno Pinto, Ana Margarida Cardoso (INET-md – NOVA FCSH), Maria Helena Milheiro (INET-md – NOVA FCSH) and Áurea Dominguez (Institut Klassik of the Hochschule für Musik Basel (FHNW)), succeeds Nicholas Waldron (California Polytechnic State University) and Paul W. Popiel (University of Kansas), who are still responsible for the last issue in December 2024.
The International Society for the Research and Promotion of Wind Music was founded in 1974 in Graz (Austria) and has organized numerous activities and editorial projects to promote and disseminate wind music, namely through its annual congresses and the publications Wind Music Research Quarterly and Alta Musica. The last international congress took place from 11 to 16 July in Valencia and strengthened the links between wind music specialists in Portugal and various other countries. The researchers Rui Magno Pinto, Catarina Braga, Ana Margarida Cardoso and José Cidade (CIIE, Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences of the University of Porto) participated in the meeting.
