Ensemble Kantika is thrilled to be presenting two very special concerts in Portugal, at the Escola Superior de Música de Lisboa (Small auditorium, 15 October) and at the magnificent gothic church of the Monastery of Batalha (16 October). We will be singing our brand new programme (a heritage premiere!) “Salve regina revisitada”: Chants for the Assumption of the Virgin from manuscripts created by the Dominican sisters of Aveiro. Ensemble Kantika collaborates for this project with young Portuguese singers, students of the ESML or pre-professionals: Laura Ferreira, Patrícia Manso, Estrela Martinho and Margarida Simões.
