Biography

Rui Pereira Jorge is a professor and researcher, with a PhD in Philosophy of Music and Technology, a master’s degree and a degree in Philosophy. Having studied philosophy, pedagogy, and communication sciences, he also has training in music, sound recording and editing. He has taught on undergraduate and master’s programmes in the areas of musical sciences, sound studies, communication, teaching and multimedia, where he has supervised doctoral and master’s theses, as well as internships and final degree projects. A member of CESEM (Centre for the Study of Sociology and Musical Aesthetics), he has worked as a musician, sound editor, image editor and director. At the same time, he has carried out research into musicology, philosophy of music, aesthetics, music teaching and multimedia, publishing articles and taking part in national and international conferences.
