(NEW DEADLINE) Call for Papers: II INTERNATIONAL RESEARCH MEETING FOR MUSIC AND MUSICOLOGY STUDENTS

UNIVERSITY OF ÉVORA · 4 – 6 DE NOVEMBER 2020

By setting the goal of encouraging the exchange of experience and the promotion of the results of the projects carried out, this meeting pretends to show, promote, support and disseminate research activities in the fields of Music and Musicology, allowing participants to share their methodological approaches, reflections related to their fields of study and the results of their research works.

It aims at students of Music and Musicology who are studying at research institutions or higher education institutions in Portugal or anywhere on the planet.

Being focused on areas of interest for research in Music and Musicology, all topics related to these areas are welcome. Listed below are some topic suggestions, but other topics which are not mentioned will still be considered:

  • Music therapy
  • Modern Music
  • Contemporary Music
  • Studies of Ethnomusicology
  • Education and Human Development
  • Critical Theory and Communication
  • Music and Technology: interdisciplinarity at the service of music production
  • Music and Literature
  • Music in relation to the other Performing Arts
  • Music and Social Intervention
  • The interpreter as educational force
  • Sonic or musical geography
  • Music as (im)material heritage
  • Music and Spirituality
  • Music Interpretation
  • Jazz studies

The presentations will be individual (max. 20 minutes of presentation) and will be followed by 15 minutes of discussion.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

The proposals should include:

  • Name of the participant and institutional membership
  • Abstract of up to 300 words with keywords (3 to 5)
  • Short biographical note (200 words)

Official language: Portuguese. Presentations in English and Spanish are also welcome.

Enrolment Fee:

Master Students: 35€
PhD Students: 35€

Remark: the payment has to be made on the platform www.sge.uevora.pt until the 15th of July and the proof of payment has to be sent to us by e-mail together with the enrolment form. No inscriptions will be allowed after this date.

Make your registration at https://sge.uevora.pt (you will receive a confirmation email to finish your registration)
Log in at https://sge.uevora.pt and access the respective link in the list of events (https://sge.uevora.pt/eventos/ver/777)
Select the option “Enroll” in the options on the right side
After registration select the option “Confirm Registration”
After the registration is confirmed and the payment has been made, select the option “Confirm the Payment” where you will be asked for the billing details (name, VAT number, etc.) and where you should upload the payment receipt.
