Participation of Nuno Vieira de Almeida (CTC) in LEFFEST 2024
Although LEFFEST is, at its root, a film festival, and that is its main focus, the current edition of the festival stands out for the countless surprises it brings in other artistic fields, namely literature, music and the visual arts. In addition to the films, talks and masterclasses with some of the most iconic names in international cinema, LEFFEST 2024 will feature various exhibitions, readings and concerts honouring figures such as Camões or Kafka.
In the music field, the highlight is Kafka – (un)musical ! (?), a recital by Nuno Vieira de Almeida, a member of the Research Group for the Study of Music, Critical Theory and Communication. For the first time in Portugal, the CESEM researcher will be showing pieces by Petr Eben, Max Brod and Krenek, as well as revisiting the emblematic Kurtág, Bizet, Ligeti and Wagner. As part of the section marking the 100th anniversary of the Czech writer’s death, this musical moment, which will include the participation and interpretation of Susana Gaspar (soprano), Ana Pereira (violin) and Vìtor D’Andrade (reading), will be a unique opportunity to get to know this author’s work up close and sense a possible relationship between it and music.
The concert is scheduled for November 12 at 6 pm in the Auditorium of Liceu Camões. It is possible to buy tickets here.
