I International Meeting Memories of Music I Proposals until March 30

The I International Meeting Memories of Music: house-museums in the Iberian Space will be held in Porto (FLUP, MNSR, and Porto Conservatory) between 3 and 5 July. The meeting accepts collective and individual proposals for posters, communications, and performance communications.

This event comprises several possible thematic lines:

  • Architecture: the garden and the house as music spaces; the patron-musician versus the house-museum;
  • Collections of scores, letters and other documentation related to music in the house-museum;
  • Organology and musical instruments: materiality and practices in the intimate space of the house;
  • Musical iconography in different artistic typologies – painting, sculpture, decorative arts, inventory, critical study, approach/dissemination methodologies;
  • Musical practices and experiences in the domestic space;
  • Resident musical formations and cultural projects with a sound presence;
  • Photography and moving images that document experiences associated with music memories;
  • Others.

The organising committee includes researchers connected to CESEM, namely Javier Gandará Feijó (Music in the Modern Period Group) and Sónia Duarte (Research Group for the Study of Music, Critical Theory and Communication), as well as Ana Ester Tavares and Ricardo Vilares, both associated with CITCEM/FLUP at the University of Porto.

The call for papers closes on March 30. For more information click here.
