The 4th ‘Music, Media, and Audiences: Portugal 1974 to the Present’ Conference will be held at the NOVA FCSH Av. Berna campus on June 29th and 30th. As part of SociMus/CESEM, the homonymous project has been in progress since 2019. The purpose of its members, as well as its collaborations and interns, is to collect and process information that contributes to the expansion of critical thinking regarding the sociabilities, musical mediation, and reception perspectives. This 4th edition is focused on the festival audiences; the fandom phenomena and the viralization of music videos; the recording and discography process; the methods of musical program and promotion related to cultural venues and other spaces; the reception of musical events in the press and its impact on cultural agendas; as well as the theoretical and methodological tools to study the connections between music, media and audiences.
