CONTENT
“Toca a Audiar” – objectives, theoretical and curricular models, results and conclusions in the elaboration of the first didactic material in Portuguese (book and cd) to support the study of the violin and cello based on the theory of Musical Learning by Edwin Gordon.

Violinist at Escola Superior de Música de Lisboa and graduated in Musical Sciences at Universidade Nova de Lisboa-FCSH, she has a post-graduate degree in Violin as a Performer from the Royal College of Music, London. He joined several orchestras in Lisbon as a guest musician (Orquestra Metropolitana, Orquestra Sinfónica Portuguesa and Orquestra Gulbenkian), was a founding musician of the current Sinfonieta de Lisboa and, since 2004, he has been part of the Vozes Alfonsinas group under the guidance of Manuel Pedro Ferreira, where he performs rebab. She completed a postgraduate degree in the Educational Training Branch at Universidade Nova de Lisboa (UNL-FCSH) under the guidance of Helena Rodrigues, having since then dedicated all of her pedagogical activity according to Edwin Gordon’s Musical Learning Theory. Later she obtained the Instrumental Music Mastership-Level One in instrumental education, recognized by the Gordon Institute in the USA.
Mafalda Nascimento began her career as a cellist at the Santa Cecília Academy of Music, completed the basic course at the National Conservatory and a degree at the University of Évora. She collaborated in groups such as Orquestra Gulbenkian, Orquestra Filarmonia das Beiras and Camerata Ensemble da Guarda, and as a choralist in the Lisbon Chamber Choir and Gulbenkian Choir. She has been dedicated to teaching according to Music Learning Theory since 2006, the year she met Edwin E. Gordon. That same year she attended the Studies in Music Education: Instrumental Musical Practical Applications course, and later Innnovations in Instrumental Music, both recognized by the Gordon Institute in the USA. In 2011 she completed a Masters in Music Education at Eastman School of Music, Rochester, New York.
