Harpsichordist and researcher Mafalda Nejmeddine will be touring with a show to promote the record edition “Sei Sonate per Cembalo” that constitutes the first recording of a collection of sonatas for key composed by Alberto José Gomes da Silva, in Lisbon, on Monday mid 18th century. The show “Sei Sonate per Cembalo” begins with the projection of the documentary film “Reencontro” that tells the researcher’s trip to meet the work and its composer, and the other trip that took the harpsichordist to the United States of America to meet the harpsichord Callisto, a Portuguese harpsichord of the time, preserved at the National Music Museum in Vermillion, South Dakota. After the film, the audience will have the opportunity to attend a presentation on the particular and unique characteristics of the collection’s record edition, recorded for the first time in a historical Portuguese harpsichord, and watch the interpretation of some sonatas from this collection in the harpsichord.
