Professor Colwyn Trevarthen has passed away (1931 – 2024)

Professor Colwyn Trevarthen, Emeritus Professor of Psychobiology and Child Psychology at the University of Edinburgh (Scotland), died on July 1st, at 93.

Professor Colwyn Trevarthen was a consultant for NOVA FCSH’s Doctoral Programme in Musical Sciences, and a consultant and honorary mentor for the Companhia de Música Teatral, which includes several members of CESEM’s Education and Human Development Group. He was the world expert in the field of proto-communication and co-author of the term “communicative musicality”.
