Participation of Paula Gomes-Ribeiro (CTC) in the 12th MIIS Conference – 50 years of 25 April, Transitions and Transformations
Paula Gomes-Ribeiro, from the Research Group for the Study of Music, Critical Theory and Communication, will take part in the 12th Intercultural Mediation and Social Intervention Conference – 50 years of 25 April, Transitions and Transformations, with the paper ‘Opera as a political act: Portugal, between dictatorship and democracy’. Her participation is supported by CESEM Core Funding (UIDB/00693/2020) and IN2PAST (LA/P/0132/2020).
The 12th MIIS Conference will take place on 5 and 6 December 2024 and aims to be a “space for reflection on some of the multiple effects the April revolution will have inspired”. The conference is organised by ESECS – Polytechnic Institute of Leiria and CICS.NOVA.
Among the researcher’s recent activities, it is worth highlighting her participation in the inauguration of INET-md’s thematic line ‘Women’s, Gender and Sexuality Studies’, at which Paula Gomes-Ribeiro presented the fruits of ‘15 years of research in Music and Gender’ at CESEM. The researcher is the coordinator of NEGEM – Studies in Gender and Music.
