‘About Women composers’ I Roundtable with Paula Gomes-Ribeiro (NEGEM)

On April 24, at 5:30 pm, Paula Gomes-Ribeiro, coordinator of NEGEM – Advanced Studies in Gender and Music, will take part in a roundtable entitled ‘About Women composers’, with Anália Cardoso Torres (sociologist) and moderated by Andrea Lupi. The event, organised by the Teatro Nacional de S. Carlos, is part of the ‘Travessias’ cycle and will take place at the Teatro Aberto.

‘About Women composers’ precedes the Portuguese Symphony Orchestra’s concert ‘Under the Sign of Euterpe’ at 7 pm. The concert will feature a programme made up entirely of works by female composers: Fanny Mendelssohn, Henriëtte Bosmans, Augusta Holmès, Lili Boulanger, Vitezslava Kaprálová and Florence Price. The musicological text accompanying the programme is under the responsibility of Paula Gomes-Ribeiro.
