CESEM researchers honoured by the Brazilian Academy of Music
CESEM researchers David Cranmer and Mário Vieira de Carvalho, as well as Rui Vieira Nery (Inet-MD), have been elected Corresponding Members of the Brazilian Academy of Music. The institution was founded in 1945 by Heitor Villa-Lobos.
I am deeply moved and honoured to be associated in this way with the 40 academics, many of whose works I admire. Caravelas – Study Group for the History of Music in Portugal and Brazil celebrates its 17th anniversary this year. It is what has allowed me to contribute, through a wide variety of collaborations and activities […]. To my friends and colleagues at Caravelas, a big thank you and a warm hug.
