On June 20th and 21st, it will be held at the NOVA FCSH Av. Berna campus the 5th ‘Music, Media, and Audiences: Portugal 1974 to the Present’ Conference. As part of SociMus/CESEM, the homonymous project has been in progress since 2019. The purpose of its members, as well as its collaborations, is to collect and process information that contributes to the expansion of critical thinking regarding the sociabilities, musical mediation, and reception perspectives. This 5th edition is focused on the production and dissemination of contemporary works; musical sociabilities and listening habits in Lisbon; the media as a tool for musicological research; music as a medium for spreading ideological views; and the musical programming of certain Lisbon institutions. On the 21st there will also be two debates, one on the documentary Um Corpo que Dança by Marco Martins, and another on the musical program in Lisbon.
