‘One minute of opera’ consists in the creation, presentation and broadcasting of four radio operas, each lasting one minute, based on current news events that have a national or international impact on the media. This operatic theme has often been called CNN Operas (Nixon in China, Two Boys, etc.). The focus will not be specifically on the facts that the media reported, but rather on everything else that was not told – the emotions, motivations, regrets and inner thoughts of the main players in these news stories, countering media trivialisation and sensationalism.
