VI International Contemporary Piano Meeting (ON-LINE)

The VI International Contemporary Piano Meeting on-line edition, will be held by the Conservatorio de Música Gilardo Gilardi (CGG – Argentina) and Facultad de Artes- Universidad Nacional de La Plata (UNLP – Argentina) in partnership with the Programa de Pós-Graduação em Música da Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (UFMG- Brasil), Escola Superior de Música e Artes do Espetáculo (ESMAE-Portugal) and Centro de Investigação em Sociologia e Estética Musical (CESEM- Portugal), between the 22nd and 24th of November, 2021. It will also have the adhesion of the Foro Argentino de Compositoras (FADeC- Argentina) and the Instituto de Investigación en Producción y Enseñanza del Arte Argentino y Latinoamericano (IPEAL- Argentina).
Since its first edition, in 2016, this itinerant event aims to promote sharing, socialization, debate and reflection on research and performance of contemporary music for piano. In 2021, the 6th International Contemporary Piano Meeting) will also be on-line (video- conference) taking advantage of the web resources.
The conference theme, in this 6th edition, will be the piano works of argentinian composer Mariano Etkin (1943-2021) on the 5th anniversary of his death.
We also encourage performers, composers and researchers to submit proposals on piano works of contemporary composers (including working with electronics, experimental practices and improvisation) and contemporary points of view about music written before our time as well, in the following modalities: research paper communications and lecture-recitals.

Submission categories:
- Research paper communications: papers that result from a completed or ongoing investigation may be submitted, provided that they present consistent partial results. For the submission, an original and unpublished video must be sent with the communication (with a maximum duration of 15 minutes. Editing will be at the discretion of the authors, which may include illustrations, audios, anr/or other resources. This communication must be sent through an unlisted link on YouTube, which will be forwarded to the scientific committee for evaluation. Papers in Portuguese, Spanish and English will be accepted.
- Lecture-recitals: in this modality, proposals that result from artistic research may be submitted. For the submission, an original unpublished video of the lecture-recital (maximum duration of 30 minutes) must be sent. Editing will be at the discretion of the authors, which may include illustrations, audios, and/or other resources. This lecture- recital must be sent through an unlisted link on YouTube, which will be forwarded to the scientific committee for evaluation. Papers in Portuguese, Spanish and English will be accepted.
