Biography

Alexandre Andrade Natural de Souto, municipality of Santa Maria da Feira, is Assistant Professor at I.S.E.I.T-Viseu, Piaget Institute (Portugal), Guest Professor at the Federal University of Alagoas and Federal University of Bahia (Brazil) and prof. Flute at the JOBRA Music Conservatory (Portugal). He graduated in Transverse Flute Teaching (University of Aveiro) in 1995, in the class of Pedro Couto Soares, held a Masters in Performance in Ireland (Waterford Institute of Technology) in 1997. He received a PhD in Music (University of Aveiro) in 2005 , dedicating his thesis The presence of the transverse flute in Portugal from 1750 to 1850, its repertoire and performance of the transverse in the 2nd half of the century. XVIII and 1st half of the century. XIX. In September 2016, he completed the Master in Interpretation-Ancient Music-Traverso, at ESMAE (Porto) in the class of prof. Olavo Barros. He also worked in the Baroque Orchestra with professors Pedro Sousa e Silva, Ana Mafalda Castro, Benjamim Chénier and Marco Ceccato. Founding member of the ensemble ensembles Ensemble Ars Iberica, Iberian Ensemble and Ventos do Atlântico he has performed concerts and training in the area of ​​Ancient Music in mainland Portugal, Azores, Spain; England, Czech Republic and Brazil.
