Biography

She is an Auxiliar-Professor at the University of Aveiro (UA), a researcher at INET-Md and a collaborator at CESEM of FCSH at Universidade Nova de Lisboa. Pianist, singer-songwriter in a jazz and fusion genre, she edited three original CDs, Mulher Avestruz (2003), Colapsopira (2009) and Paluí (2013), which presents in concerts. Her professional activities include the study of improvisation and musical understanding – which resulted in her doctoral dissertation, Learning Procedures in Harmonic Syntax Audiation and Related Effects in Improvisation Skills – the direction of the curricular units Didactics of the Music in the masters in Teaching of Music, the creation and artistic direction of musical and scenic concerts (Casa da Música, Porto), as well as the research, conception and implementation of multidisciplinary artistic works germinated in music, with Pedro Carvalho de Almeida, as Paluí: Viagem por Histórias Sonoras que a Língua Portuguesa Conta, aimed at developing the creative and written expression of the Portuguese Language and Visual and Plastic Education, where about six hundred children from the Elementary Education of Santa Maria da Feira participated under the guidance of the Municipal Educational Resource Center. Paluí has been reinvented in different projects and communities, becoming a didactic and multidisciplinary model that she develops and studies in a systematic way – as Paluí Está Aqui? Histórias Sonoras para Cantos Interiores, which is currently implementing with users and patients of the Hospital Magalhães Lemos (Porto), students and teachers of music and design of the UA and IPP, and which will present at Ao Alcance de Todos at Casa da Música. Paluí and Navegar, in video, have been awarded, selected and nominated at international film festivals around the world, such as the 6th CMS International Children’s Film Festival in Lucknow, India. She composed and recorded Coculi for Cantar Mais, where Brendan Hemsworth, Joana Machada Araújo and students of the Musical Initiation classes of the Calouste Gulbenkian Music Conservatory of Braga participated.
