Biography

Music teacher and Department Chair of Art, Physical and Special Education at the Caparica School Group/Ministry of Education. Bachelor in Music Education and Master in Musical Sciences. Co-author (with Manuela Encarnação, Carlos Batalha, Ana Venade) of Essential Learning in Music and Musical Education for Basic Education (1st, 2nd and 3rd Cycles), a curriculum guidance document from the Ministry of Education/Portugal. Author of the Music section of the Curricular Guidelines for Pre-School Education, from the Ministry of Education/Portugal. Between September 2012 and August 2015 and between September 2016 and August 2017, required teacher, responsible for the Music area, in the Artistic Education team, General Directorate of Education, Ministry of Education/Portugal. Between September 2007 and August 2011, he was treated as a scholarship holder, by the Ministry of Education, at LAMCI/CESEM – Universidade Nova de Lisboa, where he developed research, under supervision of Professor Helena Rodrigues, on the development of vocal responses in babies/children, between 12 and 24 months old, faced with sung and spoken stimuli. Between 1999 and 2011, he held musical guidance sessions for early childhood at the Musicentro/Salesianos de Lisboa (team coordinated by Victor Gaspar), at the Academia de Amadores de Música (coordinator, of the “music for babies” project at this institution , between 2001 and 2004) and in “Ousar Crescer” (with João Reigado). Trainer in the area of ​​Music Education, accredited by the Scientific-Pedagogical Council for Continuous Training, developed short-term actions, courses and workshops at AlmadaForma/CFEC, at the DGE Training Center, at CFAE in Bragança Norte, at CFAE Ordem de Santiago, among others. Author and performer of musical theater shows for babies and young children. Member of the social bodies and musical consultant for Teatro Extremo.
