The II Cysmus Workshop, Group of Advanced Studies in Music and Cyberculture, is a space for meeting and debate, which starts from music to think about aspects of culture and digital audiovisual communication in the 21st century. It takes place on the 28th of June, between 9 am and 6 pm, in the T4 room of Torre B, of FCSH-NOVA.

In the morning, two panels of individual exhibitions are presented that address various themes related to culture and digital audiovisual communication in the 21st century. Performances and multimedia products, sound and music in video games, library music, post-humanism and cyberculture, domestic soundscapes and other topics are presented and discussed. In the afternoon, a blind cinema session is introduced, an interactive activity to introduce the music of video games in MMO’s and the commented viewing of a documentary about the production of music in video games.

On this journey, the Ebook ‘Log In, Live On – Music and Cyberculture in the Age of Internet of Things’ is also presented, which is due to be launched soon.

The II Cysmus Workshop brings together ten students and researchers and aims to promote the meeting and debate between those interested in the fields of music and cyberculture: artists, academics, fans … in an open science production space.
