Convite para o concerto de Mădălina Petre

Concert by CESEM researcher at Casa da América Latina in Lisbon

Casa da América Latina, UCCLA, Brazil’s mission to the Community of Portuguese-Speaking Countries, and the Roman Cultural Institute of Lisbon present “Violão Clássico no Brasil do Século XX: Fusões e Influências” by the Romanian classical guitarist Mădălina Petre.

Mădălina Petre is a doctoral student at the National University of Music in Bucharest, Romania, and a collaborator in CESEM’s Research Group on Contemporary Music. Mădălina is currently in Lisbon on a mobility study programme financially supported by the Romanian Ministry of Education through the Credit and Scholarship Agency.

Mădălina Petre’s research focuses on the Brazilian classical guitar repertoire of the 20th century. The study aims to analyse the stylistic diversity resulting from the various fusions and influences that contributed to the composition of these works. The repertoire includes pieces by composers such as Heitor Villa Lobos, Radamés Gnattali, and César Guerra Peixe, as well as a set of vocal and instrumental works composed under the signature of Antônio Carlos Jobim, Baden Powell, and Vinicius de Moraes.
