I am a student of the Music Technologies Licentiate at the Superior Music School integrated in the Polytechnic Institute of Lisbon. Although I have a wide range of interests in this field of study, I tend to prefer the post-production part of the degree, specially the technical and scientific part of mixing and mastering. With this studentship, I’m seeking not only a development of these technical and scientific skills, but also an understanding of the topics that are inherent to a Studentship of Scientific Initiation. Furthermore, the activities that the studentship involves allow for an approximation to a real work environment, along with a development of a myriad of skills, such as organization, work relations, time and team management, workflow, planning, and even the ability to teach some of these skills to others.
After finishing high school with a focus on Economic Sciences, I chose to study Computer Science and Multimedia engineering at the Lisbon Superior Institute of Engineering. I studied this for two years, all the while consolidating my passion for the Sound and Music fields of study, something that I had learned by myself throughout my life. During my teen years I studied music with academic intent, but mostly for fun, which also contributed towards my choice of changing my degree to the already referred Music Technologies Licentiate.
On a personal note, I consider myself to be a calm and thoughtful person, with the ability of working with a team but also leading with responsibility. I have varied tastes, with a big enjoyment for sports, having practiced several throughout my life, such as karate, swimming, chess, and basketball. Currently I’ve been enjoying climbing, which I complement with going to the gym. I also have a big passion for other art forms, such as cinema and videogames.
