Interpretação Musical - Teoria e Prática aims to present the public with research results and perspectives from various musicological fields related to musical performance. With contributions from Mário Vieira de Carvalho, Siegfried Mauser, Jonathan Dunsby, Jorge Correia, Francisco Monteiro, Ângelo Martingo, Daniela Coimbra, Elsa Abrantes, Eduardo Martins, Helena Marinho, and Manuel Pedro Ferreira, the phenomenon of musical interpretation is addressed not only from a hermeneutic and historical perspective but also through empirical studies. By considering both the practitioners of interpretative performance and its historical and cultural relevance, this work seeks to contribute to the enrichment and comprehensive understanding of this still young field within Musical Sciences, through the confrontation of methodologies.
