Biography

Matilde Ezequiel was born in Alcobaça. Having started her musical studies on the Piano at the Alcobaça Music Academy, she then completed her High School degree at the Espinho Professional Music School. She participated as a student in several Piano Masterclasses lectured by Nuno Caçote, Ana Teles, Fausto Neves by Pedro Burmester.

Matilde is presently enrolled in the 3rd year of Musicology at the Nova FCSH, with Art History as minor studies.

In 2023, she participated at the Cistemúsica Sacra “The choral music at the Alcobaça Monastery” with Pedro Teixeira and Tiago Morin, as well as in the 2024 edition with the theme “Jesu meine Freude and penitentiary motets” with Jonathan Ayerst and Margarida Silva Mendes.

As music teacher, Matilde participated in several sessions focused on students with aural and visual disabilities. She completed a training in Braille music organized by the Braille Iberoamerican Comity and participated in several training sessions by the MUSICAR Project. Since 2023, Matilde is part of the Filarmonica Enarmonia project, leaded by Prof. Dr. Rui Magno Pinto, that gives musical training for blind or visually impaired children, young and adults. Since 2021, she has been teaching the organ at the School for Sacred Music in the parishes of Turquel and Évora de Alcobaça.

Matilde was part of the organizational comity for the conference: “Digital Technologies Applied to Music Research: Methodologies, Projects and Challenges.”(2024, FCSH-UNL).
