Biography

Lluis Guerra Recas is a researcher, composer, and educator working at the intersection of artistic research, interactive systems, and embodied music cognition. He holds a PhD Cum Laude in Art: Production and Research (UPV, 2021) on emotions and interactive systems in video game music. His compositional practice spans multiple genres and media—from orchestral and chamber works to film scores, pop and jazz arrangements—reflecting a versatile engagement with classical interpretation, jazz idioms, and contemporary digital composition. As Academic Director of Music & Sound at ENTI–UB (Barcelona), he leads the educational program in Music and Sound Production while fostering innovative interdisciplinary projects. As Visiting Researcher at CESEM–NOVA FCSH and ITI LARSys (Lisbon), his practice-based research focuses on biofeedback-informed music systems, real-time audiovisual interaction, and the role of physiological and gestural data in performance. He has designed and deployed the Biofeedback Suite (BFS) across artistic, educational, and research contexts. As a performer, he brings extensive experience in piano, improvisation, ensemble setups, and conducting.
