MSCA Postdoctoral fellowships 2026 I Applications hosted by CESEM until May 24
CESEM is available to be the host institution for candidates for the Marie Skłodowska-Curie
Applicants should send the following documents:
- Work plan (draft);
- Curriculum Vitae;
- Details of the proposed CESEM supervisor, who must have already agreed to supervise the application.
The application should be sent to cesem@fcsh.unl.pt by May 24 (email subject: MSCA 2026_Call for expressions of interest).
It should be noted that prior contact with a potential supervisor is an essential step to ensure the proper scientific alignment of the proposal.
CESEM’s Board of Directors will analyse the applications before accepting to act as host Institution and will notify the candidates until May 27 of the acceptance or refusal of proposals.

Proposals will be reviewed by the Board of Directors, and candidates will be informed of the outcome by June 9. CESEM will provide support to selected candidates throughout the entire application process.
CESEM is organised into five research groups: Early Music Studies; Music of the Modern Era (including the Caravelas – Study Group for the History of Music in Portugal and Brazil); Contemporary Music; Critical Theory and Communication (comprising two clusters: Thought and Music, and SociMus – Advanced Studies in the Sociology of Music); and Education and Human Development. In addition, eight thematic lines foster collaboration across groups on interdisciplinary topics: Luso-Brazilian Studies; Music Iconography; Music and Literature; Music and Performance; Opera Studies; Palaeography and Editing; and Therapeutic Effects of Music.
