1 Research Grant – CESEM-P.Porto

CESEM-P.Porto is offering a 6-month scholarship, starting the 1st of October 2021 and renewable up to one year, for a master student (Music-Performance-Violin) wishing to collaborate in ESMAE’s work plan associated to the project Documental and performative treatment of the Musical Archive of the Northern Regional Directorate of Culture. The tasks are:

a) Cataloguing and digitizing the estate of portuguese composer Augusto Marques Ponto;

b) Analysis of the compositional processes in Pinto’s works for violin and piano and their connection with tradicional Portuguese music;

c) Critical edition of Pinto’s selected works for violin and piano.

Candidates should:

a) be enrolled, at the time of the contract, in a master program in Music-Performance-Violin

b) have a bachelor’s in music-Performance-Violin

Preferential factors:

a) Previous experience in researching themes related to Portuguese tradicional music;

b) Previous experience in the analysis and interpretation of 19th century violin repertoire.

Work will be conducted at Escola Superior de Música, Artes e Espetáculo do Porto (ESMAE/IPP), Rua da Alegria, nº 503, 4000-0045 Porto, under scientific supervision of Professor Ana Maria Liberal.
