2 Research Grants – Project “The musical manuscripts of the Monastery of Belém: an unknown jeronima tradition” (EXPL/ART-PER/1031/2021)
Tenders are open for the award of two (2) Research Grants for Master’s students (BI) within the scope of the Project “The musical manuscripts of the Monastery of Belém: an unknown jeronima tradition” (EXPL/ART-PER/1031/ 2021), financed by national funds through the FCT/MCTES (PIDDAC), under the following conditions:
Scientific Area: Musicology
Admission requirements: Degree in Musical Sciences or equivalent and enrollment in the Master’s Course in Musical Sciences or equivalent.
Preferred requirements: attendance in the area of specialization in Historical Musicology.
Work plan: Each fellow will index a choir book from the Monastery of Belém (one manuscript for the Office and another for the Mass). The indexing will be done in the Portuguese Early Music database, linked to the international Cantus Index database, and consists of recording the texts from all corners of each of the manuscripts, as well as the introduction of additional information, according to previously defined criteria; actively participate in other CESEM activities.
Duration of scholarships: The scholarship will last for 6 months, starting on July 1, 2022. The scholarship contract cannot be renewed.
