MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowships 2025 I Applications hosted by CESEM until June 2 [new date]

The Centre for Music Studies (CESEM) of the NOVA University Lisbon invites expressions of interest from scholars wishing to apply for the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) Postdoctoral Fellowships. The fellowship has a duration of between one and two years, and researchers of any nationality are eligible to apply.

Interested candidates should submit the following documents by June 2 to cesem@fcsh.unl.pt, using the subject line “MSCA2025_Expression of interest”:

  • A work plan (maximum 500 words)
  • Curriculum Vitae

Proposals will be reviewed by the Board of Directors, and candidates will be informed of the outcome by June 9. CESEM will provide support to selected candidates throughout the entire application process.

CESEM is organised into five research groups: Early Music Studies; Music of the Modern Era (including the Caravelas – Study Group for the History of Music in Portugal and Brazil); Contemporary Music; Critical Theory and Communication (comprising two clusters: Thought and Music, and SociMus – Advanced Studies in the Sociology of Music); and Education and Human Development. In addition, eight thematic lines foster collaboration across groups on interdisciplinary topics: Luso-Brazilian Studies; Music Iconography; Music and Literature; Music and Performance; Opera Studies; Palaeography and Editing; and Therapeutic Effects of Music.
