Roundtable and book presentations I Activity of João Pedro Cachopo (CTC)

On April 29, João Pedro Cachopo, coordinator of the Research Group for the Study of Music, Critical Theory and Communication, took part in the roundtable ‘Brazilian Opera and New Technologies’, organized by the Brazilian Academy of Music, alongside composers Jocy de Oliveira and Paulo Zuben, with moderation by Leonardo Martinelli. Between 14 and 22 May, the researcher will be giving presentations of O Escândalo da Distância: uma leitura da A Montanha Mágica para o século XXI (Tinta-da-China, 2024) in the Brazilian cities of São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro.

  • Presentation at Livraria da Vila in São Paulo, with Luciano Gatti and Iara Machado Pinheiro, on May 20, at 6 pm;
  • Presentation at Livraria Janela in Rio de Janeiro, with Pedro Caldas and Jessica Di Chiara, on May 22, at 7 pm;
  • Round table on Thomas Mann with Paulo Astor Soethe and Fernando Costa Mattos at MaiFest in São Paulo (May 17-18).
