The last concert commented on as part of the AVONDANO XXI project, in which CESEM is a partner, will take place this Friday, September 19, at the Alfândega Régia – Museu da Construção Naval in Vila do Conde.

AVONDANO XXI is a project consisting of a tour of 10 concerts on various stages around the country, where the keyboard sonatas of Portuguese composer Pedro António Avondano (1714?-1782) were performed and discussed, based on the first critical edition of these works recently published by Mafalda Nejmeddine (Music in the Modern Period Group). This unique initiative allowed the public to rediscover the music of an 18th-century Portuguese composer, learn about the compositional practices of the time and, above all, become aware of the work of musical recovery and editing that has been carried out based on manuscripts and editions from the period.
