Laboratory of Music and Communication in Childhood (LaMCI)
Coordinator: Helena Rodrigues
The Laboratory of Music and Communication in Childhood (LAMCI) is part of the Education and Human Development research group. The work combines research, training, artistic creation, and intervention. It has a large room with a linoleum floor, acoustic panels, audio-visual recording equipment, and an adjoining room with a double mirror, offering excellent conditions for the naturalistic observation of musical behaviour in situations of communication and interaction. It supports artistic, therapeutic, educational, and outreach projects for the community. This space provides services to the community, including prenatal singing for pregnant women and couples and the Música de Colo programme for parents, babies and children, which has been running uninterruptedly since 2013.
Location: Campus de Campolide - NOVA FCSH, Colégio Almada Negreiros, 2.º piso, sala 204
