Biography

Jiayi Ou is currently a PhD candidate at NOVA University Lisbon/FCSH, focusing on research in music education and psychology. He holds a bachelor’s degree in violin performance from Xinghai Conservatory of Music and a master’s degree in violin performance from Fontys School of Fine and Performing Arts in the Netherlands. Jiayi received the Dutch Student Scholarship and served as the first violinist of the Tilburg City Orchestra in the Netherlands. He was also the principal second violinist of the Xinghai Conservatory Symphony Orchestra. Jiayi has guided students to win awards in various international and domestic competitions, gaining extensive experience in violin teaching and coaching.

In recent years, Jiayi has actively participated in academic research and conferences on music education in China. His research focuses on optimizing music teaching models, mental health, and performance psychology. His academic achievements have been published in SSCI (JCR Q1) journals, with several papers also included in academic journals indexed by CNKI. He was invited to present his research at music education and psychology conferences at Southwest University. Additionally, Jiayi has won multiple “Outstanding Mentor Awards” at the Hong Kong International Violin Competition, demonstrating excellence in teaching and research. He currently serves on the editorial boards of two CNKI-indexed journals.
