Luísa Correia Castilho received her doctorate in Music and Musicology at the University of Évora with the dissertation entitled The works of Manuel de Tavares and the development of polychorality in Portuguese polyphony in the 17th century. She has a Master’s degree in Musical Sciences, from the University of Coimbra, with a dissertation on music at the Cathedral of Castelo Branco, a Degree in Musical Sciences from the Universidade Nova de Lisboa and a General Singing and Piano Course, from the Regional Conservatory of Castelo Branco. She is an integrated member of CESEM – Center for Sociology and Musical Aesthetics Studies and a contributing member of Age.comm – Interdisciplinary Research Unit – Aging Communities. She works as Coordinating Professor at the Higher School of Applied Arts of the Polytechnic Institute of Castelo Branco. She is a member of the Ethics Committee of the IPCB and CESEM, representative of ESART of GAENEE (Office of Support for Students with Special Educational Needs) and Vice-president of the Technical-Scientific Council of ESART. She participated in congresses, courses, seminars and conferences, national and international, in the field of musicology and education. She is the author of several book chapters and articles published in indexed reference journals. She was part of research projects in which he stands out: Ordo Christi – Artistic Heritage of the Order of Christ between the Zêzere and the Tagus (15th and 16th century) and Lost and found texts and voices. Recovery, reconstitution and recreation of fragments of music (c. 1100-c. 1600). Her areas of interest are: Music, Music Teaching, Music Didactics, Musical Intervention Methodology, Musicology, Musical Iconography, Local History.
