Biography

PhD in Music and Musicology from the University of Évora (2008), master’s degree (1996) and graduation in Musicology (1990) from the Faculdade de Ciências Sociais e Humanas – Universidade Nova, Lisbon. Main field of research: instrumental music during the Portuguese Ancien Régime. Principal researcher of a project about instrumental music in Portugal 1755-1840 funded by the FCT (2010-2014). Since 1995 she has taught at the Conservatório Nacional and since 2000 at the Music Department of the University of Évora. Member of CESEM and colaboration researcher of the Centre INET-MD from FCSH-UNL. Head of the Museum of Portuguese Music (Casa Verdades Faria) 2010 -11.
