Biography

PhD in Musicology with a thesis on the theme: Instrumental Music at the End of the Ancien Régime. Contexts, Circulation and Repertoires: 1750-1820 (2008, UÉ). Associate Professor at the Music Department of the University of Évora. Research domains: instrumental music at the end of the Ancien Regime, and musical activity in the city of Évora. PR of the Research Project: Instrumental Musical Studies 1755-1840 (2010-13: FCT). Member of the Orpheus Research Project – Music at the Convent of São Bento de Cástris (2014-15: FCT). She was Head of the Portuguese Music Museum – Casa Verdades Faria (2010-2011). PR of the PASEV Project: Patrimonialization of the Soundscape in Évora: 1540 – 1910. (ALT 20-03-0145 – FEDER-028584. LISBOA-01-0145). In this context stands out the publication of the books: Paisagens sonoras urbanas: História, Memória e Património (CIDEHUS/CESEM – 2019). https://books.openedition.org/cidehus/7521; Paisagens sonoras históricas – Anatomia dos Sons nas Cidades (2021) https://books.openedition.org/cidehus/16834, Sonoridades Eborenses (CESEM/CHAM-FCSH/Ed. She is currently member of the research team that implements the Music Interpretive Center in Évora – European Capital of Culture 2027.
