Considering and complementing CESEM's general objectives, the centre at the University of Évora produces and promotes research in Music and Musicology with special emphasis on the areas of music history, music education, theory, interpretation and music creation today. It also supports the training of human resources in Music and Musicology in close collaboration with the master's and doctoral programmes in the area of music at the University of Évora. CESEM-UÉvora fosters the dissemination of scientific and artistic knowledge through publications, scientific meetings, colloquia and congresses. It also encourages artistic and scientific exchanges with other national and foreign institutions, musicians and researchers, as well as multidisciplinary collaborations. Extension activities and relations with society are also priorities at CESEM-UÉvora.
