Biography

After studying musicology at the University of Tours, the Conservatoire national de musique et de danse de Paris (CNSMDP) and the École pratique des hautes études (EPHE), where in 2013 she defended her thesis on the Office of the Circumcision from Sens Cathedral (supervision Marie-Noël Colette), Océane Boudeau has been a researcher at the Universidade Nova in Lisbon since 2015. Her work focuses on notated liturgical music in Portuguese sources and on the networks for the creation and dissemination of plainsong repertoires between southern France and the Iberian Peninsula. In 2022 and 2023, she directed a collective project devoted to the choirbooks of the Hieronymite monastery Santa Maria de Belém (Lisbon), funded by the Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia. With João Pedro d’Alvarenga (Universidade Nova de Lisboa) and David Andrés Fernández (Universidad Complutense de Madrid), she is currently preparing the proceedings of the conference held as part of this project.
