Viagens pela música em língua portuguesa – Ibermúsicas competition

Viagens pela música em língua portuguesa is a competition that results from the collaboration between the Ibermúsicas Programme and the Community of Portuguese Language Countries (CPLP), with the support of DGArtes and FUNARTE. This initiative aims to build bridges of culture and cooperation and reduce the physical distances between Latin America, Europe, Africa, and South-East Asia.

This competition is for projects made by musicians, musical groups, ensembles, composers, luthiers, conductors, producers, or researchers from Portuguese-speaking countries in Africa or Asia. The projects must include collaborators from Portugal and Brazil (or be destined for one or both countries). Proposals from producers in Brazil and Portugal with artists from other Portuguese-speaking countries are also accepted.

Creative residencies, tours, musical research (ethnographic, anthropological, or musicological), or a combination of these activities are eligible projects. The financial support will cover the operational or production costs of the content, product, or project.

The competition ends on October 1. The winners will be announced on November 29. The projects will run in 2025, from January 1 to December 31.
