On November 23, Coimbra’s Café Santa Cruz will host the pre-launch of a book dedicated to the music of Pedro de Cristo (c. 1550-1618). This work is a result of a project developed by the Lisbon Chamber Choir in partnership with CESEM.

The book will be presented by Alberto Medina de Seiça. The publication, authored by João Pedro d’Alvarenga, Ana Delfina Gaunt and António Jorge Marques, is a significant contribution to the preservation and dissemination of the music of one of the most remarkable and inspired Portuguese polyphonists of the 16th and 17th centuries.

Following the pre-launch, the Church of Santa Cruz will host a concert starring the Lisbon Chamber Choir, under the direction of Teresita Gutierrez Marques, and the D. Pedro de Cristo Choir, directed by Cristina Faria, with works by Pedro de Cristo.
